  1. Yeah, a well-intentioned endeavour all the same. It can't have been easy to do.
  2. Yeah I saw this, but have to say I'm kind of in two minds about it.. It must have been very cool to be part of that experience, but I would have preferred to see a more sympathetic restoration rather than a virtually total re-build, which is what seems to have happened. (or at least a total re-surfacing). Ideal scenario would be to patch up the areas of missing plaster with new plaster, then paint and distress it to match the existing surface. It might have been possible to 'glue' back loose plaster with new plaster underneath, even if sections didn't go back exactly where they came off. At least they should have weathered the set-piece as the art department did! The harsh elements will eventally crack and break up the plaster again, but I don't think they'll add the original colouring, so I wish they hadn't left it white-washed like that. ... oh well perhaps they can go back sometime and finish the job!
  3. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Thanks for the update anyway Joe, hopefully you'll find a former at some point in the future maybe.. Jeremy
  4. I liked that a lot! You've hit just the right tone with your story so far, feels very much like the offical radio drama, top job! Jeremy
  5. "Sandyboy, why aren't you at your post? .. Sandyboy do you copy?"
  6. Hi Drew, I'm still here (just PMed you). I've been away on holiday and have hardly seen a computer for a couple of weeks - nice in a way, but now I've got a lot of catching up to do! Jeremy
  7. Agreed, that's frantastic. Good one Joe I'm away in holiday for the next two weeks, maybe there'll be something exciting to look at when I get back! Jeremy
  8. **** I've got to visit here more often! Please please count me as interested for an ABS helmet, if I'm not too late! Thanks Jeremy
  9. CJ, You correct in that all you require for membership in the 501st IS a accurate, complete and professional-quality costume... To obtain your TD designation you must meet the Legion's established criteria. Hi guys First, let me start by saying, I got no Bantha in this fight, I don't have a sandy yet, I'm not a 501st member, I'm here because I'm a fan of troopers in all their incarnations so basically the issue of pauldron or no pauldron doesn't affect me. However, it seems to me that by the letter of the (501st) law as it stands, if the quote above is correct then pauldrons on a TK are perfectly acceptable because it doesn't specify that costumes have to be exclusively SCREEN accurate. As it doesn't exclude published books/comics etc they would seem to be a fair source of reference. Perhaps the Legion needs to re-phrase their charter to be more specific? (from the title of this thread it looks like they might be) the difficulty is if they alter their wording to base their membership requirements exclusively on 'screen' accuracy only, then things like visible Imperial cogs and Aubresh text on armour is out.. etc etc.. I'm sure this point has been made endlessly elsewhere, I just didn't see it pointed out here that's all! It's not a life or death issue though is it? *ducks quickly!* Jeremy

    lucas molds!

That's an interesting theory TK1422, there are similarities with the Joiner face, but while his suits were plastic, the helmets he made were fibreglass not vac-formed. I wore one of those suits once. Jeremy
  11. Hi Paul Hey I'd fogotten I'd sent you those shots! - if you'd like them again I'd be happy to email them to ya? cheers for the welcome mate! .. and NICE shots TD1009, those really brought back memories. That's exactly how I remember seeing them, underlit in the dark like that! I'd forgotten, being so used to looking at the photos I took at the time with the flash on my camera. Seeing how they were presented again really took me back in time - thanks for the nostalgia trip Jeremy
