  1. I know 2015 passed the new CRL of having the original strapping screws visible but doesn't have to be practical. My question is do we need to have all 36 screws? I have read some reviews of guys obtaining PO status where they only needed to add it to the chest and ab section. The reason why I ask is I have little to no return edge left on my kidney and butt plate making it very difficult and ugly to put screws here. I would hate to have to reach out to my armor vendor and ask for replacement parts if its not necessary.
  2. I kind of wish I did a backer as it looks a lot cleaner but I used CA glue so that ship has sailed. I did put some weathering back there so it's not all white and sticks out like a sore thumb.
  3. Which vendor did you end up going with? Good luck on your build, start a new thread or keep this one updated with your progress.
  4. There is a sanding disk backer that you use. I have a screw that goes through the tupperware lid, through the sanding disk backer and into the mortar tube. If you use one of those self taping screws you don't need a nut to hold it in place.
  5. I believe the vitamin bottles are more accurate. That's what is used on my Dirty Boy pack. I'm trying to find some that I can order and not pay an arm and a leg or buy in extreme quantities. EDIT: It's like $12 for two bottles so unless you have these laying around, it's not too high. I thought I tried to get these before and they charged $30 or so for ordering a small quantity.
  6. I did a stack of 3 or 4 squares of ABS so my diamond knee plate would stick outwards a bit.
  7. Happy Birthday! I'm turning dirty thirty on Saturday.
  8. I donated but never got the supporter 2016 under my avatar.
  9. I literally used packing tape to tape mine in place for my submission photos. Once I got my pack, I made a snap on the shoulder strap and have it snapped in place.
  10. I am not a fan of the TKs at all. I understand the need for mobility but there are better ways to mask areas. It just seems very sloppy. It would be nice to have something new to bring to the MEPD as TKs continually gain new CRLs with every movie.
  11. By now everyone should have seen the Rogue One teaser trailer. Clearly there are mixed reviews on member's takes about the TK armor. What I would like to know if those "sandtroopers" will be classified as TDs or are they going to be called HWT and be TKs?
  12. My strap broke my first day so I ordered these: http://www.amazon.com/Mountainsmith-99-90004-01-Strappette-Shoulder-Straps/dp/B001A1Q8LI?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
  13. I've done so many trips to Jo-Ann's fabric it's ridiculous.
  14. Well if you can order them via Amazon.ca I don't see why not.
  15. I found this: https://www.amazon.ca/Rust-Oleum-249066-Painters-Touch-Multi-Purpose/dp/B002BWORTU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1459437961&sr=8-1&keywords=rustoleum+satin+slate+blue Holy crap $45 for a can of spray paint?! A few members of my garrison practically live in Canada that's how much they go there to troop with you all. Reach out on your garrison's forums and see who has a good American contact that you can get it through. I knew the exchange rate was poor but I just bought a can for less than $10 USD.
  16. I'm seeing all sorts of red flags with that armor
  17. I haven't been able to find it in store but I found it on Amazon.
  18. Terry, hope all is well. I know this thread is 6 years old but it's still relevant and useful. Is there anyway you would be able to fix some of your broken image links? I know it's a long shot
  19. You could dye it and it might be ok for basic approval but you'll want something like this from http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=10805&st=0
  20. Screen shots and approved SWAT submissions will be your best friend
