  1. I doubt that'd happen since the armor is so much different than OT. If the OT was made today, the armor would more than likely be very close in look as it is in R1 and the TK/TD would be similar too.
  2. You're going to need to shorten the strap from your shoulder bell to your chest/back shoulder elastic. Or however you have them done, close the gap .
  3. If you can pull them up more, I'd do that before cutting off the top. I am short so I had to trim the top of mine and extend the inner thigh swoop. One thing you can also do is put a block of foam on back of the thigh so the thigh piece will stick out some so it's not resting directly on your knee.
  4. I recommend you read this first: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/
  5. They would basically lump that in as a new Heavy Weapons Trooper. We will just have to wait and see what command decides. I've personally never been a fan of HWT because I feel like it's a way to have all the perks of a sandtrooper without having to get your hands dirty.
  6. Welcome Nick & Steve! Nick: Are you moving out of Alaska? Military? Why not do both? Steve: What do you need to do in order to get your Maul up to specs? There's a lot of great Sandies down under that can help you out too. Looking forward to seeing both of your build threads!
  7. lol I'll weather it for you for $200. All joking aside, I never worked with plastic until I got this kit. You learn and make mistakes, it's the fun part about it.
  8. I honestly don't remember. You just need to reach out to them and hope he has some extra parts
  9. You might need to find a sweet spot to compromise the front and back. Whatever so you don't have a gap in the rear. I ended up buying AM2.0 shins and thighs so I had more than enough.
  10. This explains exactly what I am talking about perfectly: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build/?p=462538
  11. Because you haven't cut off the extra plastic. Measure from the edge of the raised portion 10mm and draw a line. Do this on both sides. Clamp a metal ruler and cutt off the material past the 10mm. When you put the outter and inner shin pieces together it'll equal 20mm flat portion which will be covered with a 20mm finishing strip. This is called butt joining.
  12. You take the 20mm and cut it in half. So each part of the flat shin is 10mm. Then you butt join them by putting the cover strip on. You'll need a long metal ruler to clamp down so you can trim the straight line with the exacto. Go to home depot and get yourself some cut-resistant gloves.
  13. You'd need R1 style armor for that pack more than likely. Are you doing butt joins when you're building your armor? Check out some of the build threads as they are highly detailed and organized: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build/ and http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31920-ukswraths-am-10-build/
  14. Check-in with your local Garrison first, Squads still fall under their command so you may have a better time getting in contact that way, or Facebook. Depending on how old your big/little star wars fans is, you could both do sandtrooper builds at the same time. Walt's Trooper Factory (look him up on Facebook) makes adult and child sized sandtroopers.
  15. I bought extra ABS from Trooperbay and I use inner strips too for added strength. If you haven't done so, pickup a bunch of rare earth magnets and extra clamps. That way you can do more than one piece a night. I would also advice not doing all the cover strips at once. You need to make sure things fit correctly. For example, if you need more room on the rear of the thighs you may need larger cover strips.
  16. Off to a great start! Study all the ATA build threads you can while you wait until your armor is made.
  17. I don't know much about them but I remember seeing that clip from the guys wearing that armor on Youtube for Britain's Got Talent and I wasn't impressed. If you're in search for reputable vendors, check out http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/
  18. I read the discussion over at FISD the other day and the Norwegian pack will/should belong to FISD. This second pack, as shown on the visual guide, is definitely for sandtroopers so I believe a CRL should be developed in the near future. Hoping that when the blu-ray is released, there's more screen time for the sandtroopers in the deleted scenes. I was disappointed with the deleted scene content from TFA. I'm sure there'll be a directors cut at some point with even more content in attempt to get people to buy it again.
  19. You don't have to quote me every time. I work in IT and am online all day unless I have to go to another building for a call. People post WTB all the time here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/11-for-sale-or-trade-personal-items/ I think you have to have a certain amount of posts (maybe 10?) in order to post there first though.
  20. You can always post a WTB thread on FISD. A lot of TKs have them and don't need them.
  21. trooperbay.com or reach out the Walt's Trooper Factory on facebook.
  22. Yep, when I was building my armor they were a lot of help. I still go there here and there, especially cruising the sales threads.
  23. My garrison's forum is stuck in 2006 in both design and software so don't feel bad. You can get a lot of help here specific to sandy and help generally with the armor at WhiteArmor.net. They have the bigger community but we know all things sandtrooper here.
  24. Once you increase the inner forearm swoops, you'll be able to pull them up a bit higher and it shouldn't bother your wrist. You'll probably end up putting foam on the inside too.
  25. You're going to remove all return edge on the forearm on the wrist end. I wouldn't trim any length wise down there. You can extend the swoop on the inner forearm where it meets the crook of your elbow though.
