  1. For basic membership my GML had me wear my leather MP40 pouch on my right hip and the other on my shoulder. I had a hard time coming up with a strapping method and since I only planned to wear this like that one time ever, I used packing tape and taped it on.
  2. Yep, you can cut out those notches for your sandtrooper. Sandtroopers get built the same as TKs just without the square ab button piece and black paint stripes, 3 buttons instead of the 4, and diamond knee plate. The Anovos kits do not come with the parts for TDs so hopefully you kept your AP pieces. If not, hit up trooperbay or another vendor to source those the diamond knee plate and 3 button piece.
  3. HWT are posers who want to wear pauldrons and a pack but not get their boots dirty
  4. For the rs props sandtrooper: http://www.rspropmasters.com/stormtrooper/sandtrooper/ For the vetted vendor list and description of how they fit and more info: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  5. Check the distance of those tube stripes. You want them about a pencil width away from the top of the tube.
  6. I'm pretty sure he means he offers the alternate pieces like the many other vendors do. You'll still have to assemble and weather it yourself. RT-MOD, AM2.0, and the newly updated AP are all great kits for bigger/taller troopers.
  7. IMO it still looks very white. You can try to dull it up a bit with some heavily diluted brown/black and blot it on and let it dry. Find a SWAT submission for the trooper you're emulating and study it. Takes a lot of trial and error with weathering.
  8. Go to Walmart or any home improvement store. They have them for a couple bucks. You can try them on so you get the right size. I got mine from Home Depot
  9. For the diamond knee plate: https://trooperbay.com/td-sniper-knee-plate.html
  10. Think of it this way, would you rather hang out on a cruiser or be on the ground getting real work done? Welcome to the dirty side!
  11. You can certainly use the Anovos TK suit for a sandtrooper but that kit does not come with the different ab button or knee plate. Vendors like ATA, AM2.0, AP, and pretty much all the vetted vendors offer the ability to go TK or TD in their kits.
  12. Congratulations! Where did you get your original strapping screw from and what are the sizes? I will need to do the same thing
  13. I'm on the FISD forums all the time and I've seen a few guys saying they were building TDs with their Anovos kits. I'll try to get them to cross post build threads here too and welcome them to MEPD.
  14. May I suggest a focus on the new CRL updates?
  15. You're going to need a new belt too. Check the ongoing sales over at whitearmor.net.
  16. You can use a number of different techniques. The important fact is emulating a screen character's weathering pattern exactly as seen if you want SWAT. PO allows you to do what you like.
  17. I did my build thread over there under ANH, there's a lot more traffic and plenty of us sandies go there too. Wouldn't be a bad thing to post on here too though.
  18. I wouldn't mind having a movie poster size print out of this
  19. I know our standards are a little different but over at FISD they recommend NOT using the ones with dimples.
  20. Your belt is rather high on those new pictures. I like your weathering though. You're on the right path for sure.
  21. I agree with what has been said above. It's how I built my MTK/AM2.0 hybrid as well. I knew from the get go I was going sandie. Fiind a AM2.0 centurion level build on FISD and mimic it except for the parts that are different for us, i.e. knee plate, buttons, etc. A big part of building your armor is making it look good from the start. It sucks to have to go back and pull plastic a part.
  22. Probably in the bathroom after drinking that big gulp.
  23. For basic 501st approval you don't have to have a pack. For PO deployment you do and then the trooper without the pack is something you can choose to do for SWAT. If you're going to get a pack for deployment, you might as well use it for SWAT though.
