  1. Thanks Jim!!! works well!!!!! I just need to tweak my installation
  2. Yeah its mounted in the helmet. Looks like PTT is going to be the way to go. I have a big head and a small Moncal helmet, it would be impossible to wear the mic properly placed for VOX and not knock it out of place putting the helmet on. Looks like PTT is going to have to be the way to go, with the benefits you described above being part of the consideration. I really don't want to deal with running it down the arm into a glove, that would be a pain, thinking about mounting the switch on my plastic ammo belt rib. Any suggestions on a spot to mount the switch that is easy to wear and easy to use?
  3. Hey guys, I got the mic perfectly placed in the bucket so the VOX works perfectly. However, then I went to go troop, and the VOX works so good doing what it is suppossed to that it picks up any noise and bursts all the time. Any creak of the armor sets it off. It looks like PTT is a better way to go to avoid random VOX activation, but I really don't want to add another wire, suiting up is enough of a chore as it is, let alone already dealing with the aker wires etc Are there any suggestions on shielding the mic to only pick up voice? I'm thinking off adding foam around the mic to shield it to aim only at my mouth, but thinking this might be tedious and not work anyway, and limiting airflow what little airflow buckets already have...
  4. Doesn't work on firefox either....must be missing something that my android phone has...
  5. Hmm, running IE9, which not sure I like yet or not, but didn't work on 8 either...oh well...
  6. Hey guys, Wondering if anyone can help, I can view the photos in this thread on my Android smartphone: http://forum.mepd.ne...topic=4679&st=0 But they won't show on any of my home computers/laptops where they obviously will be better for detail etc...anybody know what I need to view these? Guessing I'm missing dome sort of viewer software, or maybe a setting I haven't found? Thanks, Jason
  7. Thanks guys, I feel better about the EFX now. Will have to look for the threads about bringing it up to snuff. Right off the bat out of the boxI was a little ticked that the tube stripes are wrong...how could they liscense that as being screen accurate? Oh thats right, Lucas gets his bucks no matter what color the tube stripes are lol!!
  8. Hey guys, I'm new to this, bought a used FX suit with a Moncal/Trey Nichols helmet. It needed so much rework I should have just started fresh. Any way, knowing the FX helmets were frowned upon I was pretty proud of my Moncal bucket. Then I went to a 501st members house and he pointed out how "soft" the details were on my helmet (frown, eye "droops" etc). So on an impulse with intent of simply displaying it, I bought the new EFX Sandtrooper helmet. I must say after trying it on, it was easier to put on, more room, and much easier to see out of. Now, I know it's big, and frowned upon for being symetrical, but from an MEPD standpoint, is it frowned upon as much with that lid as an FX? I will probably keep and use both, but the actual trooping appears that it would be much more comfortable and viewable out the EFX bucket. Please take it easy on me, new to this and seeking honest opinions, not helmet bashing
