  1. I'm just waiting for the "look sir, droid parts" pictures... Wibble
  2. I have an all metal DLT-19 that I carry around in a padded bass guitar 'gig bag' - the pockets are handy for odd bits n pieces and the bag also has handy shoulder straps (ideal for when you're lugging the whole kit around). An added bonus is that gig-bags don't attract as much attention as gun cases etc
  3. I Vac-formed over the Tupperware bowls in black HIPS to make mine, they come out larger, in the correct colour (so no peeling paint) plus for the top 'cup' I left a plastic tab on it to attach to the seed tray. This plastic tab I chemically welded to the seed tray in order to get a good strong bond (as I obsessively over-engineer everything lol).
  4. Might have a spare aluminium conical disc thingy, will have to have a rummage around the workshop... Would offer to make a new one up on the lathe but I killed the parting-tool recently
  5. Am fortunate enough to own a metal-working lathe and vac-former, so it was a nice and easy job to tweak it. Spun up the conical detail on the lathe and made a plastic cover for the ammo 'port' (I gave up trying to fold a neat metal cover after the fifth attempt!) The T-track I found on flea-bay...
  6. This looks like the same replica MG-34 that my DLT-19 is based one, it's a nice and easy conversion to do, and the weight isn't too bad. You just need to be aware that it could damage your armour/children's heads if you're not careful when carrying it! edit: Just realised that the gun in your picture does not have the bi-pod, you'd need to find one if you wanted screen-accuracy...
  7. According to good ol' Wiki, a genuine MG34 weighs in at 12.1kg (26.7 lbs) whilst the metal replica is half the weight at 6kg (13 lbs)
  8. You can buy the same gun here - http://www.zib-militaria.de/epages/61431412.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61431412/Products/12025 The German site is over 50euro cheaper and comes with the bipod! This is the MG34 I used for my DLT-19, is pretty heavy but feels the part. Doesn't have every last little detail that you'd find on the real thing, but personally I think that this makes for a better DLT-19 (cleaner looking and somehow sleeker).
  9. Thankee kindly, you're a life-saver! (Have abandoned the metal box and just bashed one out on the vac-former instead, much less hassle n hammering!)
  10. Have had a nose thru the older threads, but not managed to find a visual guide of how many T-strips appear on each barrel section and their placement. Unfortunately there are a lot of old links to sites that on't exist and deleted Photobucket images Have got 7ft of the T-track on order, have just turned up the conical grip detail on the lathe (out of aluminium bar), and just working on the metal boxes to cover the ammo feed thingy. Hopefully soon I'll have a full metal DLT-19 replica to lug around (all 6kg of it lol). Thanks in advance for any help!
  11. The topic heading pretty much says it all really! I have a fullsize metal MG34 replica and I'm after a rough idea of how much T track I'm going to need (found a seller on fleabay selling it by the foot). Cheers for your help!
  12. I grabbed a coupla these pouches (but from a different seller) and they're just the right size to take a ROMFX plus 8 batteries (2x4AA battery holders). I used a collector's card box to protect the ROMFX unit (the kind of thing you keep Magic cards or baseball cards etc in)and it slid into the pouch nice n snuggly... The problem with the MP40 pouches is that bugger all actually fits in them (apart from candy bars )
  13. Another, slightly cheaper (but just as heavy!) option in the 'Euro zone' is one of these full metal replicas: http://www.zib-militaria.de/epages/61431412.sf/en_GB/?ViewObjectID=13211598 Some of the details have been simplified, the sights are solid pieces so you can't fiddle the range finder, but for the price (roughly £350) it's not too shabby...
  14. Hi, quick link to some pics (including the TD ab plate I did today): http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=13748&id=100000743913121&l=804b274f5f Look forward to mooching around the site and getting cleared n low down n dirty
