  1. I supplied a separate stunt kit for stunts, as well as damaged armor pieces etc :) I also designed and fabricated the Rebel soldier and prisoner costumes and some props.
  2. Hi everyone! Very pleased to share a new trailer for a fan film I worked on as a costume designer! Bucketheads is a Stormtrooper centric short film about the sc-ifi soldiers we all have a passion for. Coming soon to film festivals and online! https://youtu.be/eDZGyNs5sP8
  3. You're welcome Gordon. You said my other video was too short. So I doubled down.
  4. Thanks! Which ones are broken? My image host is still active.
  5. Even though I am a 501st member, I can't enter my 4 digit number. It won't let me. Anyone know why?
  6. This video series will cover techniques that can be applied to any armor make or type, but mainly focuses on A New Hope style armor. I will also cover specific changes for Sandtroopers. Introduction and overview Tools and Supplies Cutting cover strips Bicep trimming and sizing Biceps Construction Forearm Construction Shoulder bells Thigh trimming, sizing and construction Hand Guards
  7. Hi Paul, I just back filled mine with a plate so that I could mount it to the shin. When you glue yours, do you glue plastic shims or something under the knee so that the glue has something to grip to?
  8. Check my build thread, I have the exact same armor. http://forum.mepd.net/?showtopic=6775 I just buffed the helmet to add a little sheen and did some other parts on the high spots, but after that I just went straight to weathering.
  9. Do it right, get a new abdomen. It will be worth it. Plus you need the 3 button strip anyways. You also need to remove the shoulder straps without damaging the chest, as well as removing the TK knee plate.
  10. I was having a discussion with a friend who wants to build a TD and he was researching sniper knees. On my build I made an insert "box" that completely filled the backside of the knee to make it look solid instead of hollow. Do people prefer the hollow look and install it with a few shims of plastic? Or do you like the solid look? Screen accurate wise, I believe it was hollow. Thoughts?
  11. I polished mine slightly but just weathered it, no painting. You can see my hips armor in my tutorials.
  12. I'm the CO of the Outer Rim Garrison in BC. One of our members made an awesome one. He'll be doing a run soon.
  13. Hi all, I had an opportunity recently where a videographer friend offered to help me shoot some video of my various costumes - one of which was my Sandtrooper. These are just short, light content videos. More for my personal costume portfolio but I felt I did a decent job with doing my own editing, graphics and voice over. I've posted some on my social media and Garrison and they've been great recruitment / interest videos. So I thought I'd share here. Enjoy!
  14. Where are you in Canada? One of our members builds very nice DLT 19s. No cross border required. I would not suggest trying to bring a replica of that size across the border. There are chances it could be seized by customs.
  15. The Outer Rim Garrison was featured as the first Garrison in the "Know A Legion" interview series on the latest 501stcast. http://podcast.501stlegion.org/admin/2016/01/22/501stcast-episode-91-january-21st-2016-the-jakku-experience/ I did an interview with Doc Bev / Nicky Blum. Our interview starts at the 33:18 mark of the podcast. Check it out! Terry / Pandatrooper
  16. Yes, right here. http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=12664&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1
  17. Yes, standard white glue which is PVA. Not the yellow kind for carpentry. Just water it down 50/50 with the glue, and sponge or dry brush it on if you feel you need to dull the finish. Keep in mind that in ANH, they rushed the first sets of armor to Tunisia and weathered it on the spot. There's photos where you can still see that the armor is shiny in some spots where its not obscured by the dirt - which was a more mixture of dirt and oil.
