  1. yes that pic is real. its from the guy who found one in the antique shop, and posted it on the 501st boards. the kit is based on that picture.
  2. wow that looks great all put together!
  3. http://picasaweb.google.com/tblatt/WeirdAlAnd3dPrintedParts?feat=directlink taking the parts to crashmann tomorrow
  4. got an exciting package delivered to me today while i stopped home for lunch. faceplate and big knob for the radio, as well as half a dozen parts for other projects. lots of new toys! pics laaaaaate tonight or tomorrow
  5. new knobs got here and i delivered them to crashmann's house. faceplate will be here monday-wednesday
  6. tried to post earlier but the site was down... parts are ordered. they'll be here in about 3 weeks. anyone have a new project they want me to work on? i promise it'll be quicker than this one =)
  7. well my info's easy... tblatt@gmail.com and crashmann for the rest of the backpack. I think we'll be ordering all the new parts tomorrow.
  8. Here's the updated model I've just aligned the four parts, the three knobs on the faceplate, so you can see the larger disc on the right knob, which is part of the silicon mold casting procedure. Almost done. There is a few more things to do, and then the part will be ready
  9. I think I'll make it over there this evening, Charlie. The knobs are done, and faceplate just needs a little more work.
  10. I can make the ears real quick and we'll have them in 2 weeks, or you can use mike's, assuming they weren't involved in the WC ordeal
  11. I suppose he will split it up. He has to see how much resin each part will use, in order to figure out a fair price. A lot of work has gone into making this. I think there'll be three options: knobs only, faceplate & knobs, and the full kit which will include parts to make the box of the radio, switches, and things like that. Its really up to Crashmann to decide the prices and the kits he'll offer since he is the one doing the creation of the parts and processing the orders and such. We took some killer videos last night of the mold making process. It was way more involved than I thought. The mold will be done this evening and he'll pour the first resin copy, so I'd expect pics from him late tonight or tomorrow.
  12. Crashmann and I poured the silicon for the molds tonight.

    My New Radio

I wonder if we can attach the knobs in a way that makes them spinnable! for the switches, i'm sure you can just install actual switches behind the faceplate. like drill out the ovals on the left and glue in real switches. it wouldn't even be hard to make them actually turn on and off circuits. If i was goin dirty, i'd def do that. I just applied yesterday for my clean TK for the 501st!
