  1. We have done Lego advents with the kids the past 2 years. They love it. Last year we did the Star Wars one and it is way cool, they change up the contents every year. It is a bit pricey so if you can wait you buy the calendar after Christmas and save it for next year. They were going for half the price at Walmart once January hit.
  2. Jay, I am taking the family there from June 2nd to the 11th. I am not marching though. When are you going? Best regards, Jim Familyjim72@yahoo.com
  3. I like having my PTT in my glove because I can use it the most easily from there. A spot in-between the the thigh armor and cod piece might work well. Here is a tip to putting on your helmet and keeping the mic in place. Put on your headset, then put the foam tip in your mouth between your lips. Try not to drool! Then put on your bucket and spit out the foam tip. Then it will be in a perfect spot. My nephew taught me that trick. Also, make sure the white line on the mic tip faces your mouth. The mic is highly directional. If it is facing the wrong way your voice volume will be muted, the static burst will seem too loud compared to your voice, and the VOX will be set off by sounds other than your voice.
  4. I am happy for you Brother!
  5. Not a bad turn out for a weeknight. We have an awesome squad!
  6. Guys, I did not know there was a thread here or i would have jumped in to help sooner. My apologies. Here is a diagram on how to wire up the aker icomm and wireless kits. Check to see that you have it wired that way first. Also, make sure you are using fresh batteries for the wireless kit. When in doubt work backwords in testing things. 1. First make sure just the amp and wired headset works together. 2. Then make sure the amp works with the icomm, wired mic, and PTT. 3. Then make sure the amp works with the icomm, wired mic, and in Vox mode. 4. Then test the amp with just the wireless headset mic (no iComm). That should pin point the problem. Then email me at familyjim72@yahoo.com. I will arrange a time to call you and give you live support. I will of coarse replace whatever is not working if that is the problem.
  7. Glad I could help, Kirby. I wil ship out your headset in the morning.
  8. I put my iComm in my back armor and attach with industrial strength velcro. I am also able to fit my wireless receiver and Aker MR1506 in the back armor. I had a tough time doing that before with my RomFX and hyperdyne because I also had to fit in a enclosed battery box with it. That is no longer an issue. While i use velcro, i have also take 1" elastic straps, strung them across the inside back armor, and glued them in place. The webbing then keep everything in place a little better. Especially the voice amp.
  9. Unfortunately this already true with pay pal reporting all earning to the IRS.
  10. The old trik toy voice card (the one you have to blown in) is actually the small white radio shack sound amplifier that sells for $15. All that was done was the card was taken out of the protective box. Seemed kind of deceptive to me...also that radio shack is a "sound amplifier" not a voice amplifier. When bought from RS it does not come with a mic and thier is a reason for that. There is no feedback control and it is meant to only amply sound. So feedback will be a big issues unless you can completly isolate any exterior sounds from reaching he mic.
  11. I tried one of the Trik V2 recently. I thought it need a lot more work before selling to legion brothers. I returned mine. I currently use a hyperdyne and a romFX. Both are great and you can't go wrong there. Both need a good voice amp. I of coarse use an Aker vocie amp because I sell them. I am also working on static burst card with My aker supplier. I have been working for months on it and i will have a prototype to play with in a couple of weeks. My objective was to have a simple static burst card that is easy to use an un-complicated. Have it enclosed in a safe box and most importantly be about 30-40% cheaper than the hyperdyne or RomFX. I feel that most troopers want a good static burst but they don't want to pay $160 or to have a fragile card....
  12. I can help you out. I think it is easier to show how to hook things up with a diagram then with a picture. So look at the Before memeorex wireless headset mic" diagram. For voice amps and microphones go to my Sales thread. http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=5790 You will not find a better voice amp for your dollar then you with the aker voice amps. Although I am a little biased. The Aker also come with a good wired mic. What are your specific problems with the hyperdyne hook-up? I suggest two things right you use it. 1. Buy or a make a protective box for the hyperdyne card. that thing is too expensive to break or short out with sweat. 2. Wire up an enclosed battery box to power the hyperdyne. There was a recent accident where an exposed battery leaked acid on a troopers skin and it resulted in severe burns. For the batteries and box here are some sources that I use: Lithium rechargeable batteries. they are the size of AA but pack more than twice the voltage in them. 3.7volts compared to the standard 1.5volts. With these lithium's i get the life and voltage of 8 AA's but with little weight or space taken. Plus the battery boxes have switches built into them. I only need 3 lithium's to replace 8 AA's. So now i have 3 lithium's for my hyperdyne. I also use the same set-up to power my helmet fans. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3435 Charger for the batteries http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4151 3 x AA battery case holder with on/off switch. http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-case-box-holder-with-switch-3-x-AA-cells-4-5V_W0QQitemZ390111485482QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5ad474de2a
