  1. That has got to be the nicest scratch built pack ive ever seen! ...and its replicating the same pack id like to replicate, since my bucket is already "move along" style. Thats for still having these pics up, it will help me greatly to build my own!..which i gotta get amove on lol
  2. Ok, some of you have seen my thread on the VT helmet i obtained and my weathering of it. I felt the helmet , being .60 ABS was a bit thin. So i decided to give the fiberglass reinforcement method a try. It was good fro display, but too thin for my taste to troop in. So i reinforced the cap and back, and just the side tubes and edges of the face. It worked perfectly and is now plenty sturdy for trooping. I also opened the eyes a bit more and thinned the ears. SO now that i know i would troop in this, i wanted to do a fan mod similar to what i did on my TK. If you dont know, i just cut the lines in the tears out and put 2 fans over each of the tears. It works GREAT. If your at any troop where theres AC it feels like the AC is in your bucket! and its not noticeable at all if done right. So i wanted to do this with the TD... but the TD does not have lines in the tears....so i started thinking...... I thought maybe i can cut lines within the outline of the tear. Wont be as much air being pulled in, but more then if there was nothing, So i gave it a go..and it seems to be a success! im just awaiting the fan set up from bucketworks, and it should be ready to go. Im also on the waiting list for another set of stompers fine speaker filled hovis haha. So here are some pics...you cant even tell i cut them unless you are up VERY close. Still want to fine tune the paint in the tears a bit though. enjoy! So what do you guys think? This mod wont inhibit deployed status would it?
  3. Thanks guys! yea he told me tuesday he'll have the orange also. I just wanted to make sure it wasnt crap. Once Seth gets things back in order i may eventually replace this one with one of his, but for now, this will do me fine! thanks again guys!
  4. Im in search or a pauldron for my newly being built TD, i was going to order one through seth, but i see he is having issues with them at the moment. Didnt find any thread on this particular seller soooo yea.. ive seen these on e-bay and the seller has good feedback, but was just wondering if anyone has one of these and if they are at least fairly nice. Im going to be looking for a white and an orange so i can switch em up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...sid=p2759.l1259 thanks in advance guys n gals!
  5. Thats cool Tom! I like the vids ya do, costumebot is a cool site!
  6. ask and you shall recieve! The first 2 (parts 3 and 4)are ABS pulls off the original movie mold, which i got from Ken Tarallo, the original sculptor and special effects guy who did the originals. The third (part6)is a fiberglass pull i did myself. I pretty much larned alot of wethering techniques doing thses types of masks and i just carried what i learned over to the sandy
  7. ha yes planning on doing that too! I posted this over on the FISD and ya said the same thing...didnt it look familiar to ya mike? ha These are the pics from a couple of weeks ago i posted on FISD, i havent gotten around to tweaking it yet.
  8. thanks Chefhawk! im actually goning to replace those screws all together cuz they are rounded head screws rather than flat. I will paint em though as well!
  9. So this wasnt a TOTALLY new experience, but it was new doing a trooper helmet. I make friday the 13th hockey masks and learned alot about weathering by making those. What do you guys think? I was trying to go for a light/medium weathered look closely resembling the infamous move along trooper. Lenses have been added since i took these pics. Im also going to thin out the ears a bit more Oh and incase anyone wants to know, i used a wash of acrylic paint, raw umber, and then another wash with raw umber and a touch of yellow ochre. Alot of brushing till it was almost dry and patting down with a crumpled paper towel
  10. Thanks for the welcome everyone! Looking forward to getting my TD started soon!
  11. Just thought id say hello! Im hopefully getting myself some new armor soon, and am looking to go sandy with my older set. Its an FX that i may upgrade the thighs, shoulder bells and chest pieces of. I already have a sandy bucket, its a VT, which if you dont know is a .60 ABS TE recast, but its not bad, i may upgrade that eventually too. Once i get my new TK armor, i will start on the specifics of the TD, and i know this is the best place to do that!
