  5. Welcome to the MEPD Joe, good to have you on board!
  6. I do have a few stupidly simple questions that I cant really find answers for. 1. How tight fitting do I want the waist armor?, Not too tight of course and preferrably no gap between the ab and backplate 2. How tight for the arms and legs? Should they easily fall off my arms or fit snug? There are official sizes for the strips but depending on how big your arms are. But 15-18mm is preferred. 3. Do I need a balaclava like with my AT-AT driver? No, unless you like that warm and snug feeling 4. I have a diagram of a TK that specifies the width of the leg strips as 20mm front and back for the thighs, and 20mm front and 25mm back for calves. Is 25mm for the rear calves optional for people with bigger calves? Or is 20mm is preferable for the rear calves? Preferrably as small as possible, but the guys in a new hope were a lot smaller that we are these days. So when needed bigger 25mm is the maximum I would do. 5. Where in the world do I find the proper Tandy snaps? All I can find are snaps that are embossed with Tandy. https://www.tandyleather.com/en/category/snaps 6. Weathering products? I don't want to use the hairspray method I want something permanent and earthy. Well that's something really personal, some use real dirt, some a mixture of oil and dirt and some drag it behind their car for a couple of miles. SBut seriously I would go for terra colours and experiment with them and please, but please don't use acrylics...and the hairspray is used for fixation, I have applied several layers and it works like a dream.
  7. Awesome pictures and a great report/ ompression for those that couldn't attend it. Big Thanks for doing this bro'!

  9. All who is attending and interested: Hi, I've been tasked with reaching out to the various 501st detachments to facilitate the Galactic March at Celebration Chicago. I apologize for the late announcement of the details but the logistics have taken much longer than expected to iron out with the convention center, ReedPop, and LFL. Any questions or concerns please respond to this email. Hello everybody, we FINALLY have official details on the Galactic March at Celebration. Due to several logistical issues, we are unfortunately starting sign-ups for this event much later than anticipated. The Galactic March will take place on Saturday, April 13th at 3 PM. The parade will take place entirely within the building. Meet-up and then step-off. at the multi-club booth at 3 PM. Sign-up will be first come, first served at the link below. We will take the first 10 signups from each 501st and Rebel Legion detachment and 20 members each for MMCC, GA, DB, SG and TDE If you have access to a parade flag, we encourage you to bring it. Any other questions let me know and I will do my best to get them answered ASAP. Please share this information with your respective groups. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc7PilMaWUas4_CBNYj4W0-cG8b3pSk4ITp36en5YYvNI-QVA/viewform?fbclid=IwAR1DVtaLtGixKwVtWzcP4RPiEagZyG5FxVEROOAodeBCYND1cz0y85ZbQoE James Norman TK/TI-8114, Garrison Webmaster Midwest Garrison, 501st Legion Wedge Antilles, Outlaw 2 Nar Shaddaa Base, Rebel Legion
  10. First of all great that you have found your way to the MEPD Craig! As mentioned earlier you can find a lot of info here and on the FISD/ whitearmor.net about the do's and don'ts concerning armor and their specific manufacterers. Doing your own vac-forming is very pricey and it will take a lot of time to get it right. But as you are going for a sandtrooper I'll have to recommend that you do 95% of your research here as we have a lot of willing and able members here that can and will help you out. Concerning your daughter, I don't know her age, but if she's under 18 she can join the Galactic Academy: http://www.galactic-academy.net/ How come you're not able to post in your local garrison's forum? They do must have a section for prospective members...all garrison's do have them as far as I know. So, if you need help just reach out to one of our members ! We are here to help
  11. That's clever of the FISD.. Food for thought :)
  12. One other note, we are restricted to a small amount of merchandise items per detachment per year. So we really do need to think about which items will make it to production/ re-runs.. Not my idea, complaints need to be adressed to the top brass of the 501st.
  13. Had mine signed by some old geezer that said that he was a sandtrooper
  14. Welcome to the MEPD Dawn and thanks for posting this info.
  15. yeah, this is better. Short and clean!
  16. Of course, @m4vrick can you make this happen for our social media channels? and BUMP!!! Still waiting for the first troops to sign up for this honorable job.
  17. I have been talking about getting this back up and running with Damon/ happytrooperdotcom and he's doing his best. For now we have to do it with the page that Hausi referred to. But wasn't this whole breakdown of all sandtroopers done by Rolf instead of Pandatrooper? Not really relevant but this is how I remember it.
  18. There is no new donation drive initiated yet. We have to check our funds if one is needed, as far as I know we have sufficient funds so no new donation drive is needed. But stay tuned!
