  1. To Tk2230, yes, should I follow through with this, I will be willing to ship to canada. Just an update, the silicone mold turned out perfect. I have a better idea of how to go about this. Like I said before, im really thinking about re-doing the sculpt. The exisistiing one will be really difficult for me to fix up while keeping it as clean as possible. I'll keep everyone updated. My first silicone mold! Casted in fiberglass resin Thanks -tubachris
  2. Thanks for your interest guys. I am still practicing with the silicone rubber right now, I have two practice molds Im waiting to see if they turn out okay. I tried one earlier last week, but it didnt turn out alright. Still practicing.
  3. Yikes! Ive been trying to get onto the forum for a few days, just wouldnt load up! Anyways, I got the silicone rubber, Im practicing with a smaller object right now for me to practice with. Thats currently setting. However, due to the cost of materials, I am sincerely thinking of re-sculpting the hand plates. Upon closer inspection of my original sculpt, its not looking mold worthy, and I feel I can do a much better job then what it is right now. I'll keep you guys updated -tubachris
  4. Ok, well Ive decided to go ahead and cast these in fiberglass. I just ordered some silicone molding materials, and will mold it once I finish prepping the sculpt. Once thats done, I'll make a first cast. To be quite honest, this will be my first molding experience, as well as FG casting. I will practice first of course! Updates to come -tubachris
  5. Hey everyone I want to apologize for not responding, Ive been pretty busy, and almost totally forgot about these. The ABS supplier basically fell through, which actually really upset me. However, I am considering to cast these in fiberglass once I get a mold made. The sculpts still need a little fixing up, and since I am considering fiberglass now, all casts will be from a single mold, and make a set consistant with each other. Price may change, but it may stay the same. I will try to get this started when I can. Thanks -tubachris
  6. Hmm..this new supplier for ABS is being a pain with trying to order it. Im thinking about going ahead and casting these in styrene. I'll keep trying to work with this new source, but if not by next week, Im going through with HIPS. Sorry for the delay. -tubachris
  7. Alright, I contacted my plastic supplier, and I ordered a sheet for this run, however, they are on backorder for about 2 weeks. Once it arrives, I will form a set and present it here for whoever wants to make a final descision on getting a set. -tubachris
  8. Goin to try to finish the molds by tomorrow, just need to bondo some areas. I apologize for taking this long, Ive been busy with school/other jobs. Thx -tubachris
  9. Im working on the finishing touch ups on the molds. I will be casting these in ABS plastic now. For the 1st run, I'll need at least 5 people to sign up. I'll post pics of the final molds when they are finished -tubachris
  10. Alright, Im actually thinking about casting these in ABS plastic now to match your traditional set of armor. I am not 100% sure, but I think I may have found a good source. I will keep you posted on that. Today, I started the first mold. Please keep in mind, this is NOT the finished mold, Im still going to be doing some clean up work before I will begin castings. These are not flat, but have a slight curve to them to better conform to your hands. -tubachris
  11. Alright guys, Im working on the molds today, Im goin to make 2 molds to save some plastic for each casting. PM me if you want to be put on a list for a set, I'll get back with a final cost as well. -tubachris
  12. Hey, Im in need to get a new belt sander for my darktrooper project, and I need it for this. Im goin to home depot in a few minutes to get one. Im also probably goin to use my college's theater's shop if they let me to for this. I'll keep you updated. -tubachris
  13. Alright, well the census is that these are wanted. I'll try to get some molds made soon. Also, just FYI, these will be casted from polystyrene (HIPS) I know your TD's and covered in sand, but you will need to get a plastic polisher if you want the shine to it. -tubachris
