  1. I look forward to getting mine, I was one of the later sign ups. Looks like they will be well worth the wait! I've wanted a latex pair of handbacks for a long time now, I was glad to see someone pull it off.
  2. I remember that, it started a slippery slope didn't it?
  3. Wow, very cool. Sure beat the pants off my old T21. Good work Commodore!
  4. The ab plate became officially MEPD required two years ago. The dimpled handplate has been optional since the first time requirements were written in 2004. The sniper plate was also required since 2004. None of those are absent from the current listing, they are just under the "2008 501st requirements" (ab plate, sniper plate) and "Approved options" (dimpled handplates) headers.
  5. You might try an elastic strap instead. A two-way stretch will be durable and give some to not dig in so much. Although, after a while it will get a little uncomfortable no matter what.
  6. Nice touch, it has a clean feel to it.
  7. Looks like part of a spouting system, like an adapter that goes from a 3" rainspout to a 4". "Marley" is likely a UK brand. For a hardware solution to the exhaust piece there are probably better things to use.
  8. Man, what I wouldn't give for some nearby dunes... Very nice shots & gear!
  9. They're probably going out around the last week of this month, give or take. I'm supposed to have them any day, then I need to assemble all of them.
  10. Lighten up peeps, turn off Fox news and relax.
  11. Leave the writing on it. On the hi-res shots you can see the lettering still on the box.
  12. Probably 1". The pics of the real ones looked to be about that.
  13. You pegged it, attached to the ear screws.
  14. You'll want to pop the rivets off of the brow, you won't be able to slide your brow trim under.
  15. Dude, that looks great!
  16. The real ones were supposedly painted, but no indications what colors were paint and which ones weren't. I don't know that I buy it, looking closely there are no indications that they were painted. Thirty year old recollections can be foggy also. The orange ones have an odd mark on them where a logo may have been painted over but that is the only aberration I noticed while researching them. Plus the backing colors varied on the pauldrons, and were consistent with the corresponding top color. So, at least two off-the-shelf models were used, its probable that only one was painted, if any at all.
  17. Thats a Thursten Hallman chest protector. Not identical to the screen used, but its a very nice pattern. Definitely pad it, the ebay ones are way too thin in comparison to a real CP.
  18. Wow, wasn't he fairly young?
  19. Yeah, if you drill out the little indents surrounding and at the center of the radio "speaker" it gives it a bit more definition.
  20. You said it, its all a paper shuffle. Either tax and spend, or keep taxes down and don't spend as much. I guess its just the priorities of the people at the top being warped. Like I said before they are disconnected from the reality of what it is to be an average citizen of this country.
  21. When I say public services, I primarily mean education and things like fire departments, police departments, and hospitals. I agree that most of the welfare type of programs could stand to get the boot. Its just sad to me to think of the money we pour into an offensive military (nothing wrong with maintaining a defensive force but lets be honest, that isn't what we do) and I see more useful things underfunded. To Mikes point, I also like knowing my money goes into the hands of a fellow hobbyist instead of a faceless company.
