  1. I am not familiar with a list of found parts. My pack is from CrookKnight. He is closed and sold all of his pack stuff to Dave' s Darkside Depot. The pack I have is 3D printed. My pack has elastic straps to hold it in place. the straps are hidden by the pauldron and armor mostly and blends with the undercut. As for the weathering, the CRL moderately weathered. I'd interpret the as the weathering should be noticeable but not excessive.

  3. - From the Desk of the D.L. - Meet the Command Staff - CRL changes (proposed) Hello to my Dirty Brothers and Sisters, I am hoping to bring this tradition back this year. I love our newsletter as it is where I got my start on the MEPD command staff. If anyone has an idea or topic they would like for us to cover here in future issues, please message me. Also, if you have a submission for the newsletter, we are open to others sharing their work. The MEPD is also in need of a new Merchandising Officer. Our new PRO is Darth Mout. Our former PRO, Quinnzelle, has moved to the newly created Detachment Diversity Officer Position. The Legion has also added 2 additional detachment positions this year, Detachment Archivist and Historian and Detachment Costume Advisor. If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in stepping up and joining the MEPD Command Staff PM me for a discussion. I appreciate everyone trusting me with another year as Detachment Leader and I look forward to a great year. It seems that troops are starting to come back even more this year. We are seeing a gradual improvement each year as we move farther away from 2020. Stay Dirty, Punisha Quinn Brown (SandEEQuiNN) TD-91197 Detachment Diversity Officer Former PRO Hello MEPD, I wanted to take a little time to introduce myself and tell you a little about me. I am a single mom of a wonderful 12-year-old daughter, who is a Sandy in the Galactic Academy. I was born just outside of Philadelphia. I grew up in Pennsylvania and Florida. I now live outside of Richmond, Virginia. I work as a sushi chef. In 2014, I met our DL, Punisha, at a convention and saw how cool the 501st costumes were in person. I first joined as Asajj Ventress, which I hand-sewed. My second costume was the Sandtrooper. I am the local Rebel Legion Base CO and XO of my local Squad. I am happy to be a part of the greatest Detachment in the Legion. Quinn Brown (SandEEQuiNN) I know we started this topic on the forums already, but I felt this would give it more attention and more eyes on the topic. I have revised my original post here to include ideas and additions already shared with me on the CRL updates thread here in these forums. If you have ideas to add to this discussion, go here: https://forum.mepd.net/index.php?/topic/18089-things-id-like-to-change-this-year/ I would like to make a couple of changes to the existing CRL. I am interested in your thoughts. As always, this will not affect those already approved. You are grandfathered in. This would only be for new applicants. Currently, the CRL reads, “For basic approval ribbed shoulder straps are acceptable but discouraged.” I would like to remove the ribbed shoulders option, as only special edition troopers have those and that is a separate CRL in progress. I would like the CRL to read, “TK style ribbed shoulders are not acceptable.” The next change is a similar change in thought. The current CRL reads, “Left side Abdomen Armor has a minimum of three, and maximum of four painted white buttons.” I would like the CRL to read, “Left side Abdomen Armor has three white buttons." (Credit to BadBatch for the edit) BigWam and Airbourne trooper also added these ideas. The first involved the helmet lenses. The current CRL reads that helmet lenses are “flat green or smoke.” The change would read that helmet lenses are “flat green.” Their next idea was to remove the shoulder pouch requirement when not wearing a backpack. The current CRL says “Black in color, made of canvas, leather or leatherlike German MP-40 style ammo pouches.” The change would read, “Black in color, made of canvas German style MP-40 pouch or leather or leather like Stolla Wien ammo pouch. If you do not wear a backpack, you do not need the shoulder pouch.”

  4. Hey all Current TK here. Going to be converting in the next few weeks and I want make sure I have it right. Remove the main button plate. Change out the other plate to the 3 buttons. Swap over to the diamond knee plate Remove the plastic shoulder straps Add pauldron. I think the color is personal choice of it's not a screen configuration (thinking black Adding 2 ammo pouches I'll be adding the backpack but that's a longer process as a gather items. I think the backpack is optional And my personal favorite, weathering. Did miss anything?

  5. my two cents here (sorry I am late) but I chose to do the "roadblock captain". No they do not have a backpack. In order for me to go SWAT though, I would have to level up to PO, which would require me to build a pack. Which I dont see as necessary because the armor doesn't have it. BUT - I have accepted that as a necessary standard that should be met. If I really wanted to go SWAT, then I would build a pack to make PO. IMO - the iconic Sandtrooper is identifiable by their pauldron. No pauldron is just a regular TK that's dirty.

  9. hey everyone, I have an approved TK that I'm currently converting to a Sandtrooper. The kit is a MTK kit, purchased in December 2016 and approved as a TK (ANH - Stunt) in December 2017. Pics below are some more recent pics of the kit. Unfortunately the ABS started to yellow quite badly, and rather than paint the TK I decided to convert. I hadn't kept the kit shiny white, and there are plenty of scuff marks to match the yellowing effect. Considered converting to a heavy weapons trooper, but ultimately decided TD. The conversion means removing pieces. When I built the kit I used a lot of zap-a-gap, not much E600. removing the pieces has been slow and messy work, and I've been trying to not mess it up too badly. Hopefully the weathering will be able to disguise some of the CA glue residue, where i haven't been able to sand it down. Approved TK pics Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Progress Pics - lucky that I had the MTK kit and that I though to keep the original TD parts of the kit. Ab with plates removed and TD buttons in place Untitled Chest plate with shoulder straps removed - NB: holes are from some hidden snaps I used in the TK build, which will need to be filled with ABS paste. Untitled TK knee plate removed and TD knee plate - the TD plate has really yellowed, and you can see it here Untitled Photo showing the original elastic shoulder strapping that I used. Untitled Ammo pouches have been sourced from a local garrison member in Southern Cross Garrison. Pauldron has been ordered and is hopefully on its way.

  13. You and I have actually talked about this topic on the legion forum. It was also brought to my attention that you posted this to Instagram is well, saying this isn't approvable. This costume is approvable at level 3, SWAT. So, it is in fact approvable. This rule is in place for the very reason you stated in the post. The MEPD does not want to be the place people take old, yellowed TKs without any upgrades. For level one approval, you will need to add pouches and a pauldron. If you wish to approve as a higher level, you will first need to approve to level one and then you will need to pause the film and copy the armor style and weathering pattern exactly to the character you have chosen.

  18. Hello my name is Willi, after 5 years being TK, it's now time for me to transform my slowly yellowing TK into a beautiful TD. First i removed all the parts that make up a TK. shoulderstraps, kneeplate etc. When I finished that, I also started removing the characteristics of a TK from the helmet and started the oily sandy weathering at the same time. I use burnt umber, yellow ochre and black acrylics. Torso front and arms. OII Thigh left and right Lower legs and boots I know what you're thinking: where is the sniperplate? Since the photo's are a bit older, this is already mounted and will of course be submitted later. That's all for today folks. Criticism and suggestions for improvement are very welcome
